The first step to arranging your civil marriage ceremony is to contact the register office to check the registrar is available on your chosen day at the hotel.

When you contact the register office it is a good idea to discuss the format of your ceremony.
The register office will in due course advise you of a date for the notice of the marriage, which means a visit to the register office where you will need to:
- Provide the necessary documents.
- Pay the appropriate fee.
- Take a copy of the proposed ceremony.
You will have to make a further visit to the register office to pay the attendance fees for the superintendent registrar and registrar.
